AFSHIN HAMRABADI

Ph.D. Candidate in Economics and Management

I have been teaching and tutoring at the Department of Economics and Management as well as the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Trento. I am currently involved in two courses at the master’s level: Organization, Human Resources, and Innovation & International Corporate Governance. Below is a summary of both courses.

Organization, Human Resources, and Innovation: The course focuses on three main areas: Organisational Behaviour and Organisation, Human Resource Management, and Innovation, Creativity, and Change, covering topics such as traits, personality, perceptions, motivation, teamwork, leadership, organization theories, organizational culture, strategic HRM, recruiting, selection, training, performance management, diversity, theories of change, creativity, and open innovation. Its objectives include exploring the impact of human behavior on organizational performance, understanding organizational dynamics, HR practices, and change management, and comparing approaches to fostering innovation and creativity. Teaching methods involve lectures, team activities, case studies, and discussions. Assessment includes individual and group assignments, with an oral exam for grade finalization.

International Corporate Governance: The course unfolds across three interrelated sections: firstly, studying corporate objectives and governance issues, exploring varying company objectives and fundamental governance problems; secondly, examining governance mechanisms including boards of directors, ownership structures, and market-based mechanisms to mitigate governance issues; thirdly, discussing global governance differences, contrasting market-oriented and relationship-oriented systems. The course aims to equip students with extensive knowledge of corporate governance, enabling them to understand governance mechanisms’ influence on managerial decision-making, recognize global governance system disparities, and articulate and defend arguments regarding governance mechanisms’ impact on corporate decision-making and strategy.
